Smokehouse Shop Round-up

As well as introducing new products made here at the Smokehouse, we're always adding new products from our favourite suppliers, local treats and imported specialities. Here is a brief round-up of some recent additions to the shop.

We have a new range of luxury candles from The Prestbury Candle Company. This local company specialises in artisan candles made in small batches in their workshop. Their signature range is The Landscape Range, featuring THE EDGE, WHITE NANCY, BOSLEY CLOUD, TEGG’S NOSE & MACC FOREST, a collection of classic English botanical fragrances.

You can find the White Nancy Blanc (Honeysuckle & Wild Rose) and The Edge Noir (Sandalwood & Amber) in the shop. These are beutifully packaged very special candles which would make a perfect gift.

Also new to the shop is a range of fermented foods from Barrel & Bone - a company dedicated to handcrafting delicious, gut healthy foods. They preserve differently, aging sauerkraut, kimchi and pickles the old fashioned way, without using sugary vinegar. Instead, they favour traditional lactic acid fermentation cultivating the naturally occurring probiotic, gut friendly bacteria with salt, time and patience.

You can pick up the Classic Kimchi (Vegan version also available), Garlic & Dill Sauerkraut, and Chipotle Sauerkraut. Great to liven up any meal or enjoyed straight from the jar.

We are also stocking a range of traditional Spanish black puddings from one of our favourite suppliers of Spanish produce, Brindisa. Like the UK, Spain has many regional variations of black pudding, known as morcilla in Spanish. This Catalan variety is a soft type, made to be cooked, and contains a good quantity of onion, giving it a pleasant sweetness. The cocktail-sized puddings can be fried, grilled, baked or poached or cooked down to give texture to casseroles.

We have featured Willy's Apple Cider Vinegar before, including their delicious ACV Kombucha Energy Drink. We also carry their Apple Cider Vinegar with the Mother, made with apples from the 300 year old untouched orchards. Raw and unpasteurised, this is a very tasty naturally fermented product that is said to have very positive health benefits if taken daily and diluted as a drink.
